Meet the business

Meet the business

Some businesses earn their place in a community the slow way… appointment by appointment, recovery by recovery, name passed along at netball sidelines and school pick-ups. Physio on Bayside is one of those. Their name has been recommended over a back fence roughly eleven thousand times (approximately). A physiotherapy practice with real clinical depth and the kind of local trust you can’t buy, design or rush… you can only grow it, season after season, by being genuinely good.

Founded by physiotherapist Sarah Rogers, the practice promotes a hands-on approach, a detailed assessment that treats the root cause rather than chasing symptoms, a treatment plan built with you and one promise held above everything… you always walk out feeling better. The team now runs 15 physios deep with more than 20,000 people helped, and that promise still leads the homepage.

The moment

The moment

The practice went looking for design help and kept coming up short. In the founder’s words, “We explored many different designers and no one had the x-factor we were looking for, Digital Bloom filled a space that no-one else did!”

The timing explains why the search mattered. A third location was on the way, and third locations have a way of making a founder look sideways at her logo. The brand still belonged to the practice’s earlier chapters… lovely chapters, fully outgrown. What they asked for was an identity that honoured the past, met them in the present and would keep growing with them well into the future.

The read

What was really going on

The brief arrived with one non-negotiable, keep the warrior pose. It was personal. The pose held the founder’s own journey, the blood, sweat and tears of building the practice, the fighting when the chips were down. (We know better than to argue with meaning like that.)

What we read underneath was bigger. A warrior pose and a physiotherapy treatment plan share a job description, both build strength, flexibility and balance, and both help people move past fear and find their power again. Think of the patient coming back from a knee reconstruction, needing the confidence to trust the leg as much as the ligament. The founder’s symbol was already telling her patients’ story (and nobody had drawn the parallel, yet).

So the rebrand had one thing to protect above all… the meaning already in the room. The name, the tagline, the pose and a community’s trust all stayed. Everything around them got the elevation the practice had earned.

Why Digital Bloom

"Sarah understood what we were after and very quickly came back with a mood board and a plan that showed we were on the same page."

The discovery

The discovery

Four things were true before a single colour changed.

The practice was established deep in its community, with trust earned appointment by appointment. Its mission already existed in one line, “walk out feeling better”, and that line quietly became the design brief, because feeling better is balance, and balance is something you can build into a visual system. Its patients come in every shape, story and road to recovery, so harmony and inclusion had to live in the shapes themselves. Plus, its future was plural, a third location coming and a sister clinic (The Jaw Clinic) that would need to belong to the family without blending into it.

Behind the name

Behind the name

The name stayed and staying was the strategic move. Physio on Bayside was already well established in its community; years of word-of-mouth live in those four words and discarding them would have meant pruning the healthiest branch in the garden. (If anyone’s ever told you an established name has to go for the sake of a fresh start, you’re allowed to raise an eyebrow. We’ll raise ours with you.) Bayside earned its keep twice over, anchoring the practice to place and quietly seeding the new palette. The tagline survived every round of the redesign too, because the whole promise of the practice lives inside “walk out feeling better,” and the brand is built to keep it.

Behind the logo

Behind the logo

"Sarah artfully kept the essence of our previous branding but updated it beautifully to a modern colour scheme and vision of the business."

Sarah Rogers, Founder of Physio on Bayside

The essence kept was the warrior pose and the deep dive into it earned its place in the system. Warrior one (specifically), the pose that grounds the body, connects it to the earth and builds the focus, power and stability that a practice like this restores every day.

The colours did the modernising. The lime green of the earlier brand retired with full honours and in came seaside blues with earthy tones underneath. Blue reads as calm and at the subconscious level, as health itself (there’s a reason so many health brands reach for it), while the earth tones keep everything human and grounded (exactly the balance the practice asked for), professional and high-end yet still warm to walk into. The blues lead, the earthy tones harmonise underneath and absolutely nobody freelances (very Destiny’s Child of it). The palette is gender-neutral, harmonious and unlike anything on the practice’s own list of competitors.

The drawing style mixes fine linework with solid block shapes and the supporting graphics run in every different shape on purpose, because the patients do too. Every body, every story, every road to recovery is a different shape and the system holds them all in harmony.

And the choice nobody would notice? The curves. No road to recovery is linear (we’d love to be proven wrong), so the linework keeps its curves and even the letterforms lean round. Curved lines carry unity, trust and continuity at a level nobody consciously clocks, which means the brand promises flexibility and flow before a single word gets read.

The outcomes

The outcomes

Brand clarity and positioning

the redesign holds the practice’s essence while presenting the modern face of where the business is heading.

Visibility and awareness

“We have had nothing but positive feedback on our redesign.”

The felt outcome

they approved the work, then went one better and joined it. Their own sign-off: “We’re so happy to be a member of the bloominous brand brigade!”

The season now

The season now

A practice this rooted doesn’t need a new personality, it needs its visible self to catch up to its reputation (and now it has). The third location opens under an identity built to carry all three, with The Jaw Clinic growing beside it in the same soil. If your business has outgrown how it looks (clinic, practice, one location or three), a groundwork call is where the catching-up starts. 🌿

If your business has quietly become exceptional while its brand stayed politely ordinary, a groundwork call is where the two get reintroduced. 🐝
